Op de 13e jaarbijeenkomst van EPUAP (European Pressue Ulcer Advisory Panel) in Birmingham zijn nieuwe wetenschappelijke resultaten en reviews gepresenteerd van elektrostimulatie voor wondgenezing:
- EPUAP / NPUAP Pressure Ulcer Practice Guideline: Evidence for Electrical Stimulation. Prof. Luther Kloth, USA
- A systematic review: Effectiveness of Electrical Stimulation for Wound Healing. Gerard Koel, Netherlands
- How Keratinocites Sense Electrical Guideance cues that direct their Migration to heal Wounds. Christine Pullar, UK
Elektrostimulatie is in 2009 opgenomen in de internationale richtlijn ‘Pressure Ulcer Treatment’1 van EPUAP met niveau van bewijs A. De Nederlandse richtlijn ‘Decubitus preventie en behandeling’2 is op basis van deze internationale richtlijn herzien en uitgebracht in 2011. De richtlijn is ontwikkeld in samenwerking met V&VN Wondconsulenten, V&VN Dermatologie, het Nederlands Huisartsen Genootschap en het Kwaliteitsinstituut voor de zorg CBO.
